It’s hard to believe that what is now Conch Harbor Marina was once the Shrimp Docks. If you listen to Jimmy Buffett’s song “Woman Goin Crazy on Caroline Street” he is referring to the Shrimp Docks back in the early 70’s when Caroline Street was a pretty rough area. It was known for commercial fishing boats, dive bars, drugs and prostitution. Most of the shrimp boats have relocated to Stock Island which is one island up from Key West. Local shrimp known as “Key West Pinks” are still served in most of our restaurants.
Today Caroline Street is all luxury yachts, coffee shops, high-end restaurants, upscale guest houses and multi million dollar homes.
