Easter Sunday is fun no matter where you are but more so in Key West. Everything is fun in Key West. A prefect Easter weekend can be shopping for Key West homes for sale with me on Saturday then deciding which one you want to buy over Sunday dinner. Here are some ideas for Easter Sunday.
Book a Table for Easter Brunch
Luckily, Easter
always falls on a Sunday, also known as the day where it is perfectly
acceptable to eat breakfast foods in the afternoon. Let local chefs handle your
holiday meal. Key West restaurants offer some strong Easter brunch options.
Popular eateries Ocean Grill & Bar, Azur, Hot Tin Roof, and LL’s Test
Kitchen are all known for their wonderful Easter brunch. Hard Rock Café on
Duval Street is hosting a special ‘Brunch with the Bunny’ on Easter Sunday from
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. where guests can enjoy popular brunch items, unlimited
mimosas, and an appearance by the Easter Bunny.
Visit the Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden
Nothing says
“Spring has arrived!” like the vibrant colors of blooming flowers. Stop and
smell the roses (and hibiscus) at the Key West Tropical Forrest and
Botanical Garden on Stock Island. The only frost-free, subtropical,
natural conservation habitat and native plant botanical garden in the
continental United States is open on Easter Sunday. Get a first glimpse of the
colorful blooms that are indicative of spring along the boardwalks and nature
trails. You’ll spot turtles, butterflies, and a myriad of beautiful native
flowers like the purple blossoms of the Lignum Vitae tree, bright yellow blooms
of the Sweet Acacia, pink, white, and yellow blooms of the Locustberry, and
white blooms of the Simpson’s Stopper and Plumeria pudica. Kids are free!
Fill Your Easter Basket at Key West's Best Chocolate Shops
We believe eating
loads of chocolate on Easter is a binding celebration. Make this Easter extra
sweet and follow the aroma of chocolate drifting from Key West’s best craft
chocolate shops. Sample decadent truffles and key lime fudge from Kilwins Key
West, homemade pralines from River Street Sweets, and mouthwatering fudge from
Mattheessen’s Candy Kitchen.
Search for colorfully-patterned wings at the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservancy
Get in touch with
nature this Easter at the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory open
365 days a year. The tropical paradise is filled with 50 to 60 species of
butterflies, flowering plants, 20 species of exotic birds, and tranquil
cascading waterfalls. Kids will love watching the elegant winged creatures
flutter through the air, while also exploring the anatomy, physiology, and life
cycle of the butterfly in the Learning Center - and don’t forget your camera,
the conservatory makes the perfect backdrop for family Easter photos!
